Off fair Milan Design Week 22

Baranzate Ateliers was a standout initiative by Zaventem Ateliers during the 2022 Milan Design Week, set in the historic Necchi factory in the Baranzate district, an industrial landmark transformed into a vibrant hub of Belgian creativity and international collaboration. The project brought together 16 resident designers from Zaventem, alongside guest artists and renowned galleries like Galerie Philia and Everyday Gallery, showcasing an eclectic mix of furniture, lighting, textiles, and sculptures.

At its core, Baranzate Ateliers reflected the philosophy of Zaventem Ateliers: a commitment to craftsmanship, innovation, and sustainable practices, while fostering an environment of collaboration and experimentation. The industrial setting added to the charm, with raw architecture and evolving natural light creating a theatrical experience. Visitors explored unexpected spaces, from a control room turned dance floor to striking installations against cracked concrete floors, enhancing the immersive atmosphere.

More than just an exhibition, the initiative became a dynamic cultural moment with events like the Je t’aime Party, blending design with convivial celebration. Baranzate Ateliers offered a unique alternative to conventional showcases, focusing on community, exchange, and the intimate side of creative expression—cementing the district as a new cultural destination during Milan Design Week.
