For Design September 2020, the Grand Hall presented its latest showcase: Hell’s Kitchen. More than an exhibition, this culinary workshop was a space dedicated to experimenting with new ideas and sensations. The aim was to offer visitors a total experience where taste was the central element. Zaventem Ateliers sought to push the boundaries of design, craftsmanship, and art by fostering a dialogue between these different practices. It was in this spirit of collaboration that the Grand Hall chose to unite the culinary world with the world of design, inviting four renowned Belgian chefs for a month-long event: Thomas Troupin, Willem Hiele, Hendrik Dierendonck, and Cédric Dassonville.

Over the weeks, each chef had the opportunity to discover the space of the Grand Hall and explore the possibilities it offered for their practice. The setup was imagined and designed by the residents of Zaventem Ateliers.

Thus, the public tasted dishes surrounded by creations by Bela Silva, Adeline Halot, Studio Halot, Studio Élémentaire, Roxan Lahidji, Pierre-Emmanuelle Vandeputte, Lionel Jadot, Pascale Risbourg, Charles Schambourg, Krjst Studio,
, Atelier 185, Futurewave Design, Touche-touche, Pierre Coddens, Niyona, Maison Armand Jonckers, Aurélie Lanoiselé, Luna Lotta, and Dim Atelier.

These four editions were an unprecedented success and allowed us to offer the public a unique culinary experience in an ephemeral environment.
