The designer Fabien Cappello presents an inventory of everyday Mexican objects made in local workshops, "pequeños talleres," and sold in popular markets in Mexico. This exhibition has a dual purpose: to introduce the public to everyday Mexican objects and to showcase a collection that reflects a particular economy, one in tension with the neoliberal market. Indeed, these objects do not seek to create needs, but rather to provide specific solutions to existing, common, and cultural needs. They resist the imposition of a homogeneous world where we no longer know how, where, or by whom the things we buy are made.
Through this collection, Fabien aims to question our relationship with consumption systems. The exhibition Objetos de Resistencia is conceived as a journey of discovery, inviting the visitor to question the meaning, usefulness, design, and origin of these objects—not with the greed of a buyer but with the sincere and naive perspective of an observer.
